You’ll Never Buy Cotton Sheets Again After Reading This

You’ll never buy cotton sheets again after reading this.  Here’s why:

Cotton is basically the polar opposite of eco-friendly.  You can’t get less eco-friendly than cotton.

And bamboo sheets are so much softer than cotton sheets.  Once you try them you’ll never go back.

Fiber Element bamboo sheets. So much softer than cotton sheets.

Cotton hurts the environment in lots of ways:

  • Requires tons (literally) of water to grow
  • After growing cotton on it for a few years, soil becomes basically unusable
  • Requires more pesticides than almost any other crop
  • Requires more insecticides than any other crop
  • Kills birds, fish, and other wildlife
  • Pollutes water sources such as rivers
Cotton has rendered hundreds of communities desolate, thanks to the soil erosion it causes.

Cotton has rendered hundreds of communities desolate, thanks to the soil erosion it causes.

Cotton is farmed on just 3% of the world’s farmland, and yet 25% of the world’s insecticides and 12% of the world’s pesticides are used to grow cotton.  These pesticides and insecticides contain dozens of harmful chemicals, many of which are known to cause cancer in humans.  These same chemicals are responsible for the deaths of millions of birds, fish, and other wildlife, and they also pollute our water sources as well thanks to soil runoff.  Not to mention the fact that cotton needs an immense amount of water to grow.  To grow enough cotton to make a single t-shirt, you need to use the same amount of water that one person drinks over a three-year period.  And the soil degradation of cotton has left entire communities impoverished because of the lack of farmland after cotton ruins their soil.

Bamboo does the opposite.  Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources on the planet.  Here’s why:

  • Requires no irrigation
  • Prevents soil erosion
  • Requires no pesticides
  • Requires no insecticides
  • Has a negative carbon footprint
  • Feeds pandas (and who doesn’t love pandas?)

Bamboo is great.  That’s why it’s being used in so many different products today, because it’s a sustainable resource.  The most amazing part is that bamboo produces 35% more oxygen than trees, so it actually has a negative carbon footprint.  And not only does bamboo not cause soil erosion, but the net-like structure of its roots actually holds soil together, preventing soil erosion and degradation.  And bamboo feeds pandas!

And here’s the kicker:  bamboo sheets are the softest sheets on the planet.  Even softer than your 1,000-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that cost you almost $1,000.  Here at Fiber Element, bamboo sheets are affordable.  Once you try them, you’ll never go back to cotton.

And don’t forget that bamboo feeds pandas.  Cotton doesn’t.

Baby pandas. I dare you to find something cuter. And they love bamboo. So should you.
